Pura Vida

Everyone in Costa Rica says Pura Vida. For everything. Crazy Ticos. They are about the kindest people I have met. The buildings and houses in San Juaquin have lots of bars and barbed wire. This building cemented glass bottles to their roof. Way to reuse!

This was our snack at school. Avocado, banana in syrup and mangos This is my classmate on the left and my teacher in the middle.   After class was a cooking class. The girls loved cooking.

what can I say. I haven’t seen Marion refuse trying any food.  Tonight’s dinner was “pot of meat” which is basically Costa Rican Phò. Broth with meat and potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, rice, and some other vegetables I am not familiar with. We added avocado and she added bread. It was a fabulous feast.
