Helena giggled for the first time three days ago. This is a super cute “first.” I got the camera out just in time to catch a few before she stopped. But I couldn’t find the cable to transfer the videos to the computer until today. Enjoy.

Sending out long overdue and inexcusably belated blog birthday wishes for Marion. Marion turned THREE on July 21. Luckily Marion doesn’t even know what a blog is — let alone possess the ability to be offended that we took so long to post her birthday pictures to it. In her stead, Grandpa Sandy has been carrying the mantle of indignation. (See here and here.) Lest we be skewered as worst parents of the year, we did throw her a big party with all her friends and lots of presents. She even had her Grandpa Sandy from Sedona to celebrate with her. Anyway, as they say, “pics or it didn’t happen.” So, without further ado . . .

Marion’s graduated from her first year of preschool at Peter Pan on Wednesday June 9th, 2010. No longer a young child just learning the ropes in the Music Room, when she returns from break for the summer session, she will be a student in the Clay Room. As Teacher Sandy says at Peter Pan, she’s growing up. All of the students came out and were seated. In the third row the oldest kids who were moving on to Kindergarten wear their individually stylized mortarboards. The youngest kids were seated in the front row. Marion and her friend Lucy (next to her) opted to don gowns and hoods dresses and scarves.
