Marion’s First Preschool Graduation
Marion’s graduated from her first year of preschool at Peter Pan on Wednesday June 9th, 2010. No longer a young child just learning the ropes in the Music Room, when she returns from break for the summer session, she will be a student in the Clay Room. As Teacher Sandy says at Peter Pan, she’s growing up. All of the students came out and were seated. In the third row the oldest kids who were moving on to Kindergarten wear their individually stylized mortarboards. The youngest kids were seated in the front row. Marion and her friend Lucy (next to her) opted to don gowns and hoods dresses and scarves.
When Marion’s name was called, she graciously got up and walked to the stage where she exchanged her flower for her diploma and a squeeze from Teacher Sandy.
Once the business part was done, however, Marion promptly sprinted back to her seat. She gave no indication of why she was in such a rush.
It must have been the post-graduation tacos and ice cream at the reception.
We are so proud of Marion. She has really learned a lot in just a few short months of preschool. In truth, she started half-way through the year, and she is the youngest one there but she holds her own. She has taken right to it and has made lots of friends. She definitely earned her graduation.
