Marion’s First Week

(pictures updated July 28, 2007)

I am happy to report that our first week with Marion has been nothing short of fabulous. Sure we've been woken up in the middle of the night to face massive stinky poops and monster shrieking lungs, but that's part of the territory. All in all we've been extremely lucky with Marion. She has been eating and sleeping like a champ, so we're not all that sleep deprived. We just spend longer in bed to get the same 8 hours that we used to get. Truth be told, I'm getting more sleep now than I did through most of my time at MIT and in law school.

My mom just left to go back to Arizona. She's been a huge help for us this past week, keeping our house clean and our tummies fed so that we could devote 100% of our attention to Marion. Now that we've had that great kick-start, we're finally beginning to get our feet under us. Jackie's getting the hang of feeding, and I'm getting the hang of changing diapers and generally calming the shrieking monkey. I feel like we'll have Marion fully integrated into our lives in no time because she seems all too happy to be part of our lives.
