Old San Juan

We spent the evening in old San Juan. Feels like being sent back in time. It’s just beautiful. Small cobblestone streets, brightly painted stores and homes, and the famous El Morro Fort.

Time to pack up.

It was time to say goodbye. We love this little casita. It was good to us.

The Caves of Camuy and Las Cuervas de Ventanas

Today we hiked through three caves. We saw hundreds of bats and could hear the rushing river gushing below our feet that carved the caves. All three caves were amazing. The power of water is mind blowing.

Inside a sink hole 17 stories deep.

Breath taking cave systems. Over 2,000 caves exist throughout Puerto Rico.

Stalagtites and stalagmites.

Some of the Indigenous Tainos drawings are still visible.

Another school…. Another beach…. Another day

Today we visited another school called Semillas. The girls loved this school too. After we visited a lace museum. The Puerto Rican lace is called mundillos. Later we …. surprise…. Went to the beach and collected shells.

The school has 5 acres. This is a small fort above a little creek.

Visiting schools and more…

Today we looked at Escuela Micael. The girls loved it. Afterwards we played at the house and visited an estuary that happens at high tide.

This is the front door of the school

Jesse booted us out of the car at a McDonalds to make a conference call.

This is the river that we visited yesterday with the waterfall. This is where the river meets the ocean at high tide.

We put this millipede in bed with Jesse.
