Re-deranged Over Ten Square Feet
This afternoon I got bit by the nesting bug. It's got a nasty sting. We decided that we needed to switch our office and our bedroom. You see one of the rooms has about ten extra square feet than the other. When we have the baby, we will be sharing a room with him/her, at least for the next year or so.
Our current bedroom was already kind of cramped, so we were hoping that the ten extra square feet would make a difference. I must admit that I had my doubts about the cost-benefit tradeoff. On the one hand I have a free leisurely Sunday afternoon. On the other hand I have all of my belongings uprooted and strewn about the house for the possibility that ten extra square feet will make the next year more comfortable. In my gut, I'm voting for the Sunday afternoon, but that's because I'm an in-the-Now kinda guy. Needless to say my gut lost out today. It was a fairly arduous undertaking, but luckily we had some Marnie power pellets–aka, Snickerdoodles (see inset)–to make our way through the day.
Now that we're finished moving everything, I must humbly tuck my tail between my legs and admit that it was a good idea. You know you'd be surprised at how much of a difference a mere ten square feet can make. By the time we get our crib and co-sleeper and all of the other accoutrements and trappings of babydom, I will be glad that we spent this afternoon switching out the two rooms. Besides, it was overcast today anyway, so it is not like we missed out on too much outside.
