After weeks of school and afternoon adventures it is time to settle back into our own routine. The kids enjoy the slower mornings and picking their own food. 



Behind our cabin are waterfalls you can climb or swim in. It is the dry season so the river is pretty low key. 



Our cabin is called Cariblancos because the white face monkeys like to visit it. You can almost see on in the picture with my mom and helena. 





Afternoons are filled with snuggles and naps. 





This is the face Rosie makes if you tell her to smile for the camera. She’s a cheeky monkey. 



we are off to Montezuma. We can’t wait to see what the next week holds for us. Here are some pictures of where we have been.

i finally found vacation at Catalina’s in playa Dante. Marion and I body boarded, the whole family slack lined, relaxed in hammocks, ate lunch, Helena bought ice cream in spanish. It was a perfect day. 





After lunch we poked around before heading home for our last night in Playa Flamingo

today we walked home from school Via the beach. It was beautiful and so peaceful. 





We walked and walked looking at the critters on the beach and the we started looking in the trees for monkeys. 

Almost home we grabbed a cool lemonade and swam in the pool at our favorite bar/pool hangout. 











this beach was very cool. Covered in shells. I love the sound of waves on shells. Sounds like the beach talking back to the crash of the water. 

The kids collected shells, body boarded, and climbed on the volcanic rocks tide pooling. Lots of little critters hanging out. 





there are iguanas everywhere here. Little ones and big ones. This one sitting with Jesse is, no joke, the size of a very large house cat. 



this week has consisted of morning Spanish classes, afternoons in a pool, and late afternoons at a different beach. It truly is a paradise. 

This is one of the amazing sunrises from our bedroom. Looks almost like what I imagine Africa to look like. 



Our house that we are living in came with a 3 month old puppy. Lucky for Rosie!





Breakfast in our new home can be anything from hot dogs in eggs in tortillas to banana crepes – toppings might include honey, sour cream, cream cheese, queso blanco.

traveling from town to town has not been our strong suit. Once we got out of the cloud forest the heat hit us dead on. We are having a hard time adjusting. The first 1.5 hours of the journey we went 15 miles per hour over dirt roads. 

As soon as we unloaded our luggage we went in search of food and drinks. Lucky for us, just a few blocks away from our home is a restaurant with a private pool and lemonade.  Ahhhh…. Paradise. 





Today we did my favorite adventure yet. We rode horseback down a canyon to two volcanic hot pools. It was so much fun and beautiful.
